Public Access Facilities

Students are provided with computing facilities via the main PC Lab and 2 smaller PC Labs: one in the Rose residence and the other in the Music Technology Center. These contain a total of 25 PCs and Macs plus an array of ancillary equipment.

A fully equipped ‘smart’ classroom (Room 241) has 16 Windows workstations, projector and a full complement of audiovisual equipment.

Twenty one (21) Mac-based Internet terminals are available around the main building for student use.

The staffed PC Labs provide a range of services including:

  • Application support and advice from staff
  • Music Technology support
  • Counter sales and handouts - items such as CDs, USB drives, paper etc.
  • Printed output (all have monochrome duplex laser printers, and are managed by a Pharos print accounting system)
  • Scanners (main PC Lab)
  • Some specialist facilities (e.g. music notation and sequencing applications)
  • Staffed approx. 60 hours per week

• Main Computer Lab: Room 248 (2nd floor)

• Residence Hall Lab: 19th floor, Rose Building

Hours of Operation

• Main Computer Lab: Monday-Saturday, 8:00 AM – 10:00 PM and Sunday, 12:00 PM – 10:00 PM

• Residence Hall Lab: 24 hours a day, 7 days a week (residents, non-residents are permitted access 7 a.m. - 12 a.m. with a valid Juilliard ID)

Reservations/Availability

• Main Computer Lab: Computers are available on a first-come, first served basis. You may, however, reserve up to 90 minutes per day. To make a reservation, call ext. 363 or come by the Main Computer Lab (Rm. 248) during regular business hours.

• Residence Hall Lab: Computers are available on a first-come, first served basis.
